Are you tired of a world of fast moving cars and slow moving hearts? Where the most exciting part of your day is it finally ends? -Fear not, o' wayward traveler, we all have days like that. Days when the world feels like it's standing still, yet the seconds slip past you as you go to class, spend hours in a box with no windows, (yes, I mean the classroom), study, do some homework, and then finally go home, only to crash into your bed just in time for your alarm clock to go off.
If this speaks to you, here are 5 ways to bring adventure back into your life, strategies and ideas to help you wake up and see more than just textbooks and your computer screen.
Step 1: Look
"Explore Nature" by Geogiraffe
The first step is to take those two little orbs on your face, (yes, I mean eyes) and move them away from your current task. This might seem silly or scary, depending on that homework deadline, but trust me, this is important.
Take a deep breath, yank those very pretty eyes off this word, and look around.
-What do you see?
-When was the last time you actually saw your surroundings instead of just glimpsing them?

Step 2: Listen
The second step is to use your ears. According to wtamu.edu, humans use their sense of sight the most, and use hearing the second most. That means that while your eyes could be free, your ears could be partying it up with Owl City, causing a welcome, yet still irritating traffic jam in your brain's Central Station.
This means, unfortunately, that if you want to find some adventure, you need to unplug the tunes sometimes. This will allow your brain to clear, you'll be able to focus better, and well, you'll probably find some sort of adventure just because your brain is ready for it.
(All I'm saying is that Gandalf had to knock on Bilbo's door in order to start the events of the Hobbit, and if Bilbo had been listening to 'Ye Olde Fiddle Players' at top volume, that knocking noise would've gone unnoticed. This would cause The Hobbit to be a very, very short book, and it would be down right boring. -Long story told, if you want some adventure in your life, maybe it's time to take a break from what's distracting you.)

Step 3: Turn Around
There's a song by 1GN called "Turn Around" that talks about turning around and starting over. The song lyrics go like this:
"Yeah, you're stuck on a one way street,
The ground is shaking beneath your feet.
And it seems you're not where you're meant to be.
Yeah, you're running so far away
With every step you can feel the weight.
And it seems that you have fallen out of reach
But you don't have to stay down.
'Cause you're never too far
From a brand new start
You can turn around."
What does this have anything to do with finding adventure? Well, not much, save the fact that if your day is going poorly, if you are wiped out and overwhelmed, you can start it over. The same thing goes for your life. If you want to live an adventurous life and it's not happening, don't be afraid to break out of the mold you've placed yourself in.

Step 4: Go for a Walk
This step, like the others on this list seems really simple. But, the honest to goodness truth is that in order to have an adventure, you need to leave your house. It's easy to stay in your comfort zone where things are easy and life is safe.
-Let's put it this way, Bilbo wouldn't have gone on the adventure of a lifetime if he stayed at home. Batman never would've become Batman if he hadn't gone on a walk and fallen in the well with the bats. Lucy Pevensie wouldn't have found Narnia if she had stayed in her room all day.
The long and the short of it is to get out of your comfort zone, doesn't matter how much, just that you do it. Just break through those barriers that are holding you back and get a move on with your life. There's a whole world waiting for you, get out and go for a walk!

Step 5: Find Friends that like to explore
This step is all about building your own fellowship.. of adventu(ring)... see what I did there? Puns aside, you need your own circle that will help you go on these quests and adventures. You need a group of people that will stick with you through the fog, rain, flat tires, and bad milkshakes.
It takes a special bread of person to survive an adventure with, so get hunting. The team of a lifetime, ready for the adventure of life is waiting on you to find them. Consider this your first quest, and let's get going, "For Narnia and the North!"
